Aran Islands
Located of the Coast of Connemara the Aran Islands are must see/do when in Connemara. The Aran Islands are famous for their unique way of life and the panoramic views of Connemara. Dun Aonghasa is one of the most dramatic stone forts and all three Islands have beautiful beaches and breathtaking walks. The ferry for the islands leaves from Rossaveal and is a 40 min drive, you can also fly with Aer Arann which is also a 40 min drive away.
Inish Bofin
Located on the north west coast of Connemara, Inish Bofin is something special and unique. The Island is a haven of beauty, boasting magnificent scenery from cliff top walks to the sea on all sides to white sandy beaches and plenty of rare flora and fauna. The ferry to Inishbofin takes 30 minutes and leaves from Cleggan pier which is 45 minutes drive from the hotel.
Kylemore Abbey
Kylemore Abbey is the most popular visitor attraction in the west of Ireland and is only 40 mins drive from the hotel. Kylemore Abbey is the oldest of the Irish Benedictine Abbeys, and features a visitor centre, Victorian Walled Gardens, a Neo-gothic church, Mausoleum, Oak plantation and Woodland Walks.
Connemara National Park
Connemara National Park which is a 40 min drive away is a 2000 hectare park and visitor centre incorporating mountains, bogs, wonderful walks and wildlife. Four of the famous Twelve Bens mountain range feature in the park with the scenery and views quiet spectacular. There are picnic facilities, nature trails and a summer series of walks and illustrated talks.
Killary Cruise
Killary Cruise is a wonderful luxury sight seeing cruise on Irelands only fjord. On board the cruise you can experience the spectacular killary fjord and breathtaking scenery as you relax and enjoy the comfort and facilities on board. The cruise leaves from near Leenane four times a day during the summer season.
